With the adoption of the Common Core State Standards (45 states have adopted, not Texas), the government has implemented national educational standards and is once again threatening schools with funding and closure if the national standards are not met! "The costs of the tests, which have multiple pieces throughout the year plus the computer platforms needed to administer and score them, will be enormous and will come at the expense of more important things.
