With the aid of a Cincinnati area disc jockey Tom Dooley, who loved this groups song that they would do at the club he would always go to that he cut a deal to get them studio time if they would back him on a song he wrote and wanted to record. The Casinos did that for him, and though Dooleys song never made any kind of a dent, the Casinos song sure did. It debuted at No. 36 on January 25, 1967, and would get as high as No. 6 by March.
