With the announcement of the Frenchman, Patrick Modiano, as the latest Nobel laureate, many are now grumbling about why one of our own has been overlooked, yet again. This is hypocrisy, pure and simple. What have we done for our own writers, or artist for that matter? What prize worth talking about do we have for our own? What investment have we made in literature and writing? I think we invest more in hate, tribalism and corruption and the best accolade we should expect is Mayhem.
