With the change in Government in India, interest from foreign players is increasing. World is looking upto India for trade and Textile Sector is going to be beneficiary as well. Prime Minister Modi Ji’s outreach to various foreign nations including SAARC is helping in improving relationship with these foreign nations. Our government is also looking into bringing necessary changes to labour laws, to attract FDI in the manufacturing and sourcing in this sector. Government is working very closely with traditional textile markets as well as new foreign markets and discussing issues such as parity in Taxes for imports from India. We are confident that this will result in rise in exports in the Textile sector. After Agriculture, Textile sector is the biggest sector which has opportunity for business growth and employment generation in India. Government plans to open 25 Textile parks and 7 Mega clusters for Handicraft/Handlooms as announced in Budget. Cooperation of State Governments is necessary for success of these and keeping same in mind, meeting with state Government Textile ministers is scheduled in coming month.
