With the election dates nearing and the entire country waiting to exercise their franchise, are we sparing a thought to the workforce that stays away from family, silently serving food, building bridges, guarding apartments, giving us a hair cut etc? It is estimated that there are more than 100 million migrant workers in India who work away from their state in another state for livelihood. I am wondering if companies engaging such migrants are taking a stand to help the country. Maybe a point to ponder for my fellow HR fraternity members!
