With the exception of the last several days leading up to the election, I try not to post much political stuff because I know Im friends with people that dont share my political affiliation. But my shock and disappointment have not subsided yet. President Obama gave a very positive speech yesterday, expressing his desire to work with Congress and the Senate to get things done. I turn on the tv and the GOP winners are saying things like, We are going to make them squeal!!!! and pledging to strike down Obamacare. I have 2 kids that are chasing their dreams. What does that mean? It means they are working and saving money right now. One of them works 3 jobs but none of them offer health care. Under Obamacare, he can be on our insurance until age 26. Do you think working 3 jobs is slacking? Do you think he doesnt deserve to be on my insurance? Michael Wilkerson and Jake Wilkerson, I know you have been brain washed by your father to vote Republican, but you should be thankful for what Obama has done because you are benifiting from Obamacare. I have tried to raise you to look at the issues and make your own decisions. If you examine your own life, you will see that it is in your best interest right now to support what the dems are fighting for, unless you feel like you are not taking the traditional path and do not deserve health insurance. I also am married to someone who would possibly still have his mom in his life if Obamacare would have been around before she died. She worked hard her whole life but did not have insurance and died of colon cancer. If she would have gone to the doctor early instead of ignoring symptoms because of no insurance, she could have had colonoscopies. So yea. . . I am still shocked and disappointed about the fact that we have Brownback, Roberts, and Kobach as our elected officials. I just needed to get this off of my chest and hopefully I can move on to posting fun Emma Rose stories.
