With the extra time this long holiday weekend, consider having your child make a three dimensional (3D) castle out of any materials they wish to for the Castle Creations Contest as part of Fine Arts Night OR drawing a picture to submit to the 2014 holiday or all purpose card art design. CASTLE CREATIONS CONTEST: Please encourage your child to work on his or her castle creating independently with minimal parental help. All entries will be displayed during Fine Arts Night on Friday, January 31, and there will be prizes for Best All Around (1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place). Please note this is a voluntary project unless otherwise noted by your childs teacher. 2014 HOLIDAY AND EVERYDAY CARD ART COLLECTION: There is currently a collection box in the lobby for you to submit your child’s artwork to be considered for the 2014 holiday and all purpose cards. There is no limit on the number of art pieces you can submit. What we’re looking for: 1. Texas holiday theme 2. Religious holiday 3. General holiday 4. Art for everyday, all purpose cards (flowers, animals, landscapes, etc.) Art guidelines: • Keep in mind we need BRIGHT art that scans in and transfer well. • Crayon, marker, paint and construction paper designs preferred. • No glitter, please. • Art piece preferably no bigger than 12”x18”. • Child’s name and teacher written on the back of the artwork (so it can be returned)
