With the interstate highway system completed, I see no reason to continue to centralize so much of our transportation spending out of Washington. I would prefer to see more of those gas tax funds levied and spent at the state level instead of sending our money to Washington and then having to beg to get it back. I have co-sponsored legislation to make these changes in previous sessions of Congress and hope to do so again in the 114th Congress.
