With the loss of announcer, Don Pardo we say goodbye to an era of famous Radio Announcers from the Golden Age of Radio. Pardo began his announcing career with NBC Radio in 1940. He is one of those announcers created by the Radio School of announcers to have a specific vocal quality that was distinctive to him alone, just as his fellow famous Radio Announcers like Don Wilson or Kenny Delmar, you knew his voice when you heard it in Radio & later TV. Here is a photo of NBC famed announcer, Milton Cross in front of twin RCA 4-AA Condenser Microphones (1928 version), with The NBC Radio Logos of Radios earliest days of Network Commercial Programming.
