With the start of the new school year, my TBT is in regards to a post that I made a few years ago. My halls used to be filled with the laughter of children heading to their classrooms. My auditorium was a place where parents came to watch their children with pride in holiday programs. My cafeteria was attended by many grandparents eating with their grandchildren on grandparents day. My playgrounds were always filled with games of basketball, dodge ball, and other children games. Our elementary school was a source of pride for our community. Along with the old water tower it was one of the two most visible structures announcing our little village to visitors traveling down State Route 235. The old water tower is gone and soon our school will follow, all in the name of progress. Sometimes progress stinks.
