Within the hour, it will have been three years since my mother crossed over to the best that is yet to come. Its hard to beeline that much time has past. So many things have changed. Many things I excepted, but some things I would have never anticipated have also changed. I attribute her passing to those changes, since we all handle grief in different ways. It was my prayer the moment she took her final breath and it is still my prayer today that my life would be lived in such a way that her memory is honored and her deepest wishes would come to pass. Bringing together my family was one of them. That hasnt happened ....yet. I wont stop trying until it does, as Im certain that would be the thing she would have desired most. Until then, Ill keep on laughing often as she did. Ill keep loving even when it is hard to do so. Ill walk out of stores and get lost like she did. Ill dig in my purse to find my keys or my wallet or whatever else and think of her every time. Ill try to see the good or find the good in every situation. And Ill keep my eyes on Jesus --the One whom she reached out to while here, and in whose arms she lovingly rests now. Rest in peace Mama. Your best has come. Ive got my fork in hand until it comes for me--and Ill enjoy all those sweets you did. May the life I live and the love I give be a constant reminder of your love. Until we meet again. --your baby.
