Without down playing at all the horrible events which took place in Paris last week, there are some points that need to be made. France was the only country, along with the U.S. to support military strikes against Syria since 2013. It also recently intervened in the Central African Republic and played a leading role in Libya in 2011. Where was the public outcry over those incidents? Why are we only inclined to show sympathy for tragedies that are covered by our media? If we dug deeper and questioned more, we would be able to understand possible motives behind such attacks and begin to blame those who are funding terrorism around the world as the real perpetrators. They say that western media is free and open yet it seems it is only so if it’s about a narrative that suits a particular agenda.
