Without getting political about it but with a certain story capturing a lot of news time, Im reminded of this shaky moment back in the day: WRNO/NOLa owner Joe Costello told me a client would be coming in during my Sunday morning show to record his own ad. Station was in a motel, with long distance between air studio and entrance. Wanting to be sure I didnt keep the man waiting, I flipped through the card catalog that controlled our play rotation, finally found one that would more than take me past his scheduled 11am arrival: Neil Youngs Southern Man. Started it, went to the door, arrived just as the gentleman was about to hit the buzzer. Opened it and introduced myself, then almost swallowed my tongue when he said, Hello. My name is David Duke. Quickly prayed that hed been listening to some church broadcast and not our Godless hippie rock&roll.
