Without meaning any disrespect to those that lost their lives in 1986 & since then because of the Chernobyl Disaster, I find these images to be so captivating & haunting. Even in places where people were fortunate enough not to lose their lives. Im in love with ghost towns & ghostly things. The way things were left without a thought, it shows how fragile humanity is; how easily corruptible it truly is. I never tire of images like this that I see on the shows I watch on Netflix, or online. I guess its the loner in me that likes the quiet & the calm. The person that sees beauty in things that others would not otherwise see. It makes me appreciate the simpler things like our lives, our emotions, our sanity, the four walls we call home...however humble it may be. Others may dream of going to destination vacation spots, but in my eyes places like this are my dream destination places. When I graduate, I plan to visit places like this (safely), & capture images like this. If I can do that, I would feel like I accomplished something pretty cool in my life. I dont even mind if others find it odd. Even the song & lyrics are so beautiful, & well paired with the footage.
