Without roads ...... Thengumarahada (தெங்குமரஹடா) The village is surrounded on three sides by mountains and one side by the River Moyar. It belongs to Nilgiris District. Bus Timings to Thengumarahada As there is no good road within the forest, government buses ply to the village only twice in a day. One is from Coimbatore, and another one is from Solurmattam (Kotagiri) via Mettupalayam, Bhavanisagar. From Coimbatore : 09:52 From Kotagiri : 15:15 (Halt) From Mettupalayam : 11:00, 16:35 (Halt) From Thengumarahada To Kotagiri: 06:00 To Mettupalayam: 14:30 If you prefer to go by your own vehicle, permission is granted only on Wednesdays and Sundays upon a payment of Rs. 500/- at the Bhavanisagar Forest Range Office. Only Jeeps, SUVs, Tempos, Lorries can alone navigate this 25 km off-road (Bhavanisagar-Tengumarahada) stretch. Cars and Motorcycles cannot ( local people are permitted to use 2-wheelers).
