Without traumatic memories, I wouldnt have a story or a reason to - TopicsExpress

Without traumatic memories, I wouldnt have a story or a reason to tell it. Emotional pain is not something you let go of through an act of will. Its embedded in your brain like the rules of grammar. Try to shake those. They both manifest in how you speak, and think, and write. It doesnt define you, but it is how you define what you encounter. Its why I laugh so hard, love so hard, and play so hard. Freedom from those painful memories is not a resolute pulling up by ones bootstraps. Immersion in the complex mud and goo is where I find exultant living. When its time to stand up, I am coated in an armor of emotional density. Without painful memories, I wouldnt be happy, Id be boring. The most raucous laughter I share is with others who have had their hearts ripped out, and are still breathing. - said Maux (But the memories that hang heaviest are the easiest to recall. They hold in their creases the ability to change ones life, organically, forever. Even when you shake them out, theyve left permanent wrinkles in the fabric of your soul. - Julie Gregory)
