Without your confirmation is different from without your permission....youre giving permission when you decide to download/use the app. Now obviously, this is a pre-installed app but its no different from when the computer says click if for do not ask again.....imagine every time you wanted to send an mms message(pic/audio) and it asks are you sure you want to send this? Yes , No....reading your call log - if you miss a call, you have the ability to select send message and the phone will automatically direct you to the messaging app to send a message to whomever you want from your call log. Contacts, well you want your messaging app to recognize the numbers youre sending a message to, right? No one these days can memorize a phone number to save their life lol. Changing your network - well if there is a lack of service in an area that you may be in, this permission allows the app to communicate with your network settings to allow that message to be transmitted without any hiccups. Doesnt always work, but most of the time your messages go thru and you have no idea whats happening on the tech side of actually sending a message. I know we want to believe in conspiracies and such and there very well may be some, but to me, most of the permissions make sense. Just me tho.
