Witness Testimony Scripture And all were weeping and mourning for her, but he said, “Do not weep, for she is not dead but sleeping.” And they laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. Luke 8:52-53 Observation You may think this an unusual verse to highlight because all these people considered Jesus a joke, however what this verse actually makes clear is that the girl was definitely dead. No sleeping, or holding her breath, or unconscious, but dead. Now, a few minutes forward and Jesus not only makes the laughing stop, but he performs an honest to goodness, verifiable miracle; he brings this girl back to life, to which all these mockers are now eye witnesses. Application We were all mockers once until a miracle happened in our hearts, this is called our testimony. We are now witnesses to the salvation power of Jesus Christ. There are yet more mockers out there who need but a miracle to turn their world upside down. Perhaps your testimony, your salvation story, will help someone else find their miracle. Are you ready and willing to share it if the opportunity should arise? Prayer Lord, you have been very good to me and therein lies my testimony.
