Woah :( I received a message this afternoon from a friend who related something horrible. In the town where she lives, there are two families whose lives have been forever changed by vaccine-injury. The first family is the family of the little boy who suffered what appears to be a very serious, but not unique vaccine-injury. Two days after receiving his six month vaccinations (including the DTaP), he was rushed to the hospital and was pronounced as having a brain-bleed and signs of stroke, with left side paralysis. The other family impacted by this tragedy is the family of the baby-sitter who was watching over the child when he developed symptoms. This young woman (in her 20s) has been baby-sitting for this family for years. She is now under suspicion of child abuse/neglect and the parents who previously entrusted her (long-term) with the care of their children are now trying to press charges against her. As the mother of a child who was seriously vaccine-injured (at the age of 15 by TDaP), and as the mother of a teenage girl who would be a wonderful baby-sitter, this situation touches me on multiple levels. Parents of teenagers who baby-sit: Your teens need to be protected against false allegations. When parents choose to vaccinate their children, they are taking the risk of what may happen if their child has a serious reaction. Please inquire about recent vaccinations for those children for whom your kids might be assuming responsibility. Personally, I will take the stance that if your child was recently vaccinated, I will not allow my daughter to baby-sit - not because Im afraid of infectious disease, but because Im afraid of my daughter potentially spending the rest of her life in prison if your infant has a serious vaccine-reaction. For those who have home-daycare operations, and for those who are older, I would STRONGLY suggest insisting on a Nanny-Cam, in ALL situations if you are caring for children who are vaccinated.
