Woke up 2am Sunday morning to a water fountain in my toilet. Now most people put fountains in more appropriate places. The town is working on the water main on our street and the pump failed and all that water found its way into our basement. 8 inches of it. The insurance people were really good and had a clean up crew there by the afternoon. I am staying at a friends house as we have no hot water. Thankfully the furnace is working because we have our first snow on the ground. I am grateful for my friends. Thank you to Jewel for staying with me all day and keeping me grounded. The mess was overwhelming. Your calm kept me assured and you helped in more ways than I can count. Thank you to Dave and Lois for coming at 2am and supporting and working and directing. I couldnt have gotten through those first hours alone. Thank you for opening your home and doing my laundry. Thank you for all the little things that you have done that have brought calm to my world. Yesterday morning I read Psalm 147. The very last verse said God is in control- always... You know, he is. No matter what we go through, no matter how bad it gets, God is in control. I may be a bit shaky, but my joy and trust in God is intact.
