Woke up not with a song on the brain but with a memory of my first - TopicsExpress

Woke up not with a song on the brain but with a memory of my first encounter with Bruce Munson, who was assigned to interview me for his college newspaper (Ball State, Muncie, IN) back in the early 1970s. Since he was a student from the same school that produced the likes of a David Letterman a few years earlier, I was excited and suggested we meet at a really nice, hip restaurant, Dennys off Pendleton Pike and I-465 on Indys east side. He brought a pen and pad, I wore my skunk hat. Dont recall what the young man ordered but I demanded my usual Superbird sandwich, complete with extry festooned toothpicks and a straw for firing the mini-missiles into the acoustic-style ceiling. The article was brilliantly written and released upon the unsuspecting student body of Ball U. Bruce became famous in my household, was later added as part of the airstaff at WNAP (upon my constant bugging of Cris Conner to hire this diminutive giant of the caustic one-liner), became an integral part of Criss Morning Team and was even heard for years selling stereo equipment in the Indianapolis ad bidness. 40+ years later, I am proud to call Counselor Brucetifer TJ Munson, Esq. my consistently humorous friend.
