Woke up this morning and started to sing some random Carter family - TopicsExpress

Woke up this morning and started to sing some random Carter family songs just for fun, then moved on to Monroe songs to fill in the repotoire their a little bit. Then while I was working on twin fiddle parts I got distracted and started playing old-time fiddle tunes in alternate tunings, which led to old-time singing songs, then working on some more original material. Then I started debating with myself what sounded more countryish: pre-Bluegrass or 40s-50s Bluegrass. That then led me back into playing some Scottish and Irish tunes and working on some Texas style stuff. Then somehow, I tried decoding the first three parts of Nathan Milsteins Paganiniana for about three hours and then moved on to learn some old medieval ballads from the Isles and Eastern Europe. Am just now ending lazily chunking along with some 30s-40s stuff from the Ink Spots, Pied Pipers, Bob Crosby ect. One of those practicy days...
