Woke up this morning exceptionally proud of my two daughters for recognizing one of the most important things I have taught them and bringing something to my attention when it came to the safety of two of their friends. I am always questioning if I am teaching my kids sufficiently about the ways of the world. I am sure all parents go through the same thing. But I come down hard on myself since I have a full time job on top of parenthood. However, I guess when it comes to safety, I have nailed it. I am always drilling into their pretty heads to stay away from the rapist vans, never ever walk alone, stranger danger, heck I do not even like my daughter to play alone on the trampoline in my own back yard (sigh). I also allow them to watch shows with me about real life kidnappings, etc. If anything, my girls understand the magnitude of being safe out there and for that I am grateful. Amen.
