Woke up with the pain in my lower back aggravated severely (an area hurt in the accident), a pounding headache, and fibro flaring. Ugh. No work today. So freaking irritated right now. Stupid steroids make me so moody. Thats great the our politicians are so adamant about gay rights and all, but what are they doing about those of us who are in these predicaments where we have chronic, crippling syndromes? We cant get disability, most ER staff and doctors wont take us seriously....etc. Just because you cant see a physical manifestation of someones condition, doesnt mean it doesnt affect every aspect of our lives. Its time for us to stand up for ourselves and say look, we are contributing members of society and we need help too! There is so much funding for research and help available for the big name diseases, but what about us? I have two autoimmune diseases and a severe, advanced problem with fibro and I know other people who are in similar situations because its just pain and we are expected to perform like normal people. Screw you, government, and, personally, screw Obama care. Its done nothing for me or anyone else I know. There is some seriously effed up crap going on in Capital Hill, but the only way to change is to make sure we vote and stay up to date. I have to be the change. Time to start paying attention and start voting, not just for myself, but for all my other loved ones with chronic conditions who cant get help. I have no one to blame but myself because I dont follow politics like I should and its sad that its taken something like this to get me to pay attention. We are all entitled to our opinion and even if you dont agree, you dont walk in my shoes.
