Wolves and Art: Wildlife art was the beginning of my buying art as a collector. Manfred Schatz - 1925 – 2004 - Painter, writer, professor of art was the first artist I like enough to begin collecting. I did not have enough money for his original work so I began collecting his limited edition Giclee. His wolves in motion was distinctively different from traditional wildlife paintings. The traditional painting which looked more like photographs in the best of situations. Schatz brought the animals to life especially his wolves series. Still in demand Schatz was among the best in the wildlife painting category.
