Wolves boss Kenny Jackett to assess Bakary Sako fall-out Wolves boss Kenny Jackett today insisted the club must come first as they assessed the extent of the fall-out of Bakary Sako’s collapsed move to Nottingham Forest. Sako missed Saturday’s 3-0 win at Colchester through illness after Wolves halted talks with the Championship club on Thursday. Forest had refused to pay a loan fee and wouldn’t enter into the terms of the agreement on a transfer that could have netted Wolves up to £5m. The French winger was due to join his team-mates for training at Compton yesterday on the day a tabloid report said he was going on strike to force a move through to the City Ground. Forest, who are fourth in the Championship after a3-1 win at Brighton on Saturday, have now twice failed to sign the winger after having a series of bids up to £3.5m rejected in the lead up to the closure of the transfer window on September 2. Sako has remained the model professional up to now, but Wolves are aware they have an unsettled player on their hands and it remains to be seen how the latest speculation has affected him. Publicly at least, Jackett says he is hoping to re-integrate Sako into the squad to be involved in tomorrow’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy second-round tie at home to Notts County. “We’ll talk about the situation and, as we always have done, put the club first,” said the head coach. “We need to be able to play without individual players and without Sako we’ve won against Port Vale and Colchester. “But he’ll be welcome to come back in. Hopefully he’ll feel better and I expect him back in. He’s an outstanding player and if at all possible, we’d like him to stay and play well.” Sako missed training on Thursday after ringing in sick and failed to travel with the squad on Friday when Wolves had their first overnight stay of the season. Wolves’ biggest away win since last December’s 4-1 at Bristol City still left them third in League One after goals from Leigh Griffiths (2) and Kevin Doyle.
