Woman FINED Sh10, 000 for PINCHING neighbour’s son in Embu Friday 30th August 2013 - A 29 year old woman was yesterday ordered to pay a fine of Sh 10,000 or risk a four month jail term for pinching and slapping her neighbour’s son. Mercy Mugambi was accused of pinching and slapping the 6 year old boy daring him to report the matter to the mother. Witnesses told the court that the class one pupil was playing with his friends at Majumbo Estate when the accused called him. She then slapped him and pinched his ears asking him to report the matter to the mother. She alleged that the mother would not do anything to help him since she had gone to work. The prosecutor told the court that the boy later on reported the matter to the mother who recorded a statement with the police. The police arrested the woman. Appearing before Embu Chief Magistrate, Margaret Wachira, the accused pleaded guilty and asked to be forgiven. The magistrate ordered her to pay a fine of Sh 10,000 for assaulting the boy or serve a jail term of four months.
