Woman assaulted in Shalvey home Wednesday, 19 November 2014 06:48:12 AM Information is being sought from the public after a woman was assaulted in her home in Sydney’s west this morning. It was about 12.50am (Wednesday 19 November 2014), when the woman was confronted in her home in Nerida Place by the man. Police have been told the man punched and scratched the woman before escaping through a window. Nothing appears to have been stolen. The 41-year-old woman was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Nepean Hospital to be checked as a precaution. Police from Mt Druitt Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene. A number of items have been taken for forensic examination. Police have a description of a man they believe can assist with this inquiry. He’s described as being tall, of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, with a dark complexion and short black curly hair. He was described as having bulging eyes. At the time he was wearing only shorts with white stripes down the side. Investigators are now appealing for anyone who may have seen a person acting suspiciously in the area about the time of the attack, to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
