Woman charged with allegedly biting a police officer - Nowra Police have charged a woman after she allegedly bit a police officer this morning. About 12.50am (Sunday 22 September) police attended a home in Elder Cres, Nowra in relation to a female causing a disturbance at the location. Police will allege that they when arrived at the home a female approached the police vehicle and used offensive language. When police got out of their vehicle they will allege that the woman rushed towards a female police officer and grabbed the officer’s hair. Police will allege that woman violently resisted police attempting to arrest her and during the struggle she bit a male police officer on the arm. Police were required to use OC defensive spray to subdue the woman. It is alleged that as police were placing the woman in the rear of a police caged truck she kicked out towards a female police officer. The 19-year-old Nowra woman was taken to Nowra Police Station and charged with Assault officer in the execution of duty x 2, Resist police officer in the execution of duty x 2 and Use offensive language in public place. She was granted conditional bail to appear at Nowra Local Court on 28 October 2013. The male police officer was treated at Shoalhaven District Hospital for a bite wound to his arm
