Woman commits suicide in URR A woman in the Wulli East district village of Bantunding, Upper River Region (URR), allegedly threw herself into a well on Wednesday, (where she was later removed) resulting to her death on Saturday morning at the Basse health center where she had been recuperating. The actual circumstances leading to Jainaba Suko’s death could not be ascertained at the time of putting this report together. However, conflicting reports emerging from the area have it that she had been entangled in multiple marriage proposals after the passing of her ex-husband.Sources also have it that a close relative of her ex-husband wanted to take her on as a wife,and for the late Jainaba,she would rather die than to be forced into such an arrangement. Sources close to this reporter indicated that the victim had married in Senegal, but returned to her native home after her husband died in a fatal car accident. They added that upon her return, she had received multiple requests from men seeking her hand in marriage. Police in URR have confirmed her death to the Daily Observer, but could not ascertain the actual circumstances that preceded her death as investigations are ongoing.
