Woman of God...its one thing to talk about the joy of being on - TopicsExpress

Woman of God...its one thing to talk about the joy of being on fire for Jesus when you’re in a feeling on cloud 9...everything’s smelling like roses...I got the world on a string wrapped around my finger...kind of season. It’s a piece of cake to run to the throne of God & throw scriptures to people sitting on the side line watching your blessed & highly favored band wagon pass by. Things like...when life gives you lemons, make lemon aide! Lets Get Real... it’s not so easy to skip toward God & overextend yourself toward others when life rips your dreams in half....or when you barely muster up enough strength to put a compress on your own hemorrhaging heart. One thing Ive learned is that...great joy grows in the soil of sorrow. To be honest...I’m not so sure one can exist without the other in this life...I think our heart is designed to need the contrast. If we didn’t have dark nights...we couldn’t look forward to the dawning of a new day! If we didn’t experience heartaches...we couldn’t experience the feeling of reassurance! Without brokenness...we wouldnt understand restoration. Joy & sorrows relationship will can be incredibly painful...but it causes us to reach toward God & others. Mr. [C.S.] Lewis said...a heart that is protected by walls from the possibility of breakage “will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.” Now that really would be a tragedy! I’d much rather risk the hurt & disappointment of love lost than to never experience love at all. Through the good...the bad...& the ugly...Ive learned to count it all joy...because this too shall pass! My God will make a way...no matter what! Though the fig tree should not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines, the produce of the olive fail and the fields yield no food, the flock be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will take joy in the God of my salvation. God, the Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer’s; he makes me tread on my high places. Habakkuk 3:17–19
