Womans Empowerment and Self Defense Course: throwback to 15 yrs - TopicsExpress

Womans Empowerment and Self Defense Course: throwback to 15 yrs ago when my clinical therapist partner and I created a 5 day 15 hr non profit course to keep women and young girls safe from harm. It was an extension of my Maui Jujitsu dojo, but a completely different knowledge base/not martial arts training. Our own system for women, which we wrote a book and a course book and guide for graduates and created an advanced course as well. Both of us had extensive knowledge in martial arts, womens techniques, teaching law enforcement, psychology, counseling, and my partner also was a deputy warden at a major prison so we understood the predator mind as well. The course became very popular in Maui and many people from the mainland also took the seminar. A half dozen graduates also assisted us and showed up at new seminars to support and help the new women. We graduated over 600 women in 24 months that will not become victims - from ages 12 to 78. That was about 40 women every other month or so. Many success stories have come in since then from our students and the system we created works. My partner and I were the only men allowed in the room with 30 to 50 women at a time, all who were ready to learn and then apply the lessons and kick our butts. they could not wait to be given permission to let loose and deliver the groin kick full force. Liberating actually. :) The women were asked to wear two layers of cloths , which will be removed during the attacks - and we could do it in under 60 seconds. they would use ropes for belts to thwart us, but it did not help. knowledge and a plan helps. It was a real as we could make it in a safe environment. Attack nights were like marathons for us, since we had to take attacks from 50 women in a row and we were wiped out. We covered everything. For the physical part of this course, which was pretty scary on the last two nights of single and multiple attacks, we would wear body armor so we were not hurt. Didnt really help. I had a protective suit of 4 inches of padding and a helmet made by nasa and we still got our buts kicked. broken noses, bites, hematomas, etc. We loved every minute of it, because it was all worth it to see the change in each and every woman, young girls and daughters and confidence and knowledge gleaned on graduation night was transformative. I was healed every single course. It changed my life. I have daughters and many wonderful women in my life so it means a lot to me personally. This is a very important topic. Every 3 seconds a woman is harmed in the US and not everyone reports it, so the number is higher. :) below is one photo of hundreds of graduates.
