Women account for roughly half of the labor force in Ethiopia, but still face discrimination when accessing assets such as land, fertilizer, and other agricultural inputs. As a result, women-headed households on average own less land, operate smaller farms, and harvest lower yields than male-headed households. A recent workshop sought to address the gender gap in Ethiopian agriculture by bringing together researchers, policymakers and other key stakeholders to discuss ways to streamline joint efforts.
