Women and Development HCMS continued to assist women and children to have access to credit to raise their income level and to reduce poverty. To establish an appropriate information, education, communication system which among other things, will encourage the provision? In addition, to provide women adequate education and appropriate technology in order, inter alia, to lessen their daily workload and assure them equal opportunity for development in the society. This will be done through improving existing programs which are designed to raise their welfare, including providing them with education, skills, working tools and employment. PROGRAMMES FOR WOMEN DEVELOPMENT HCMS implements programmes in the areas of employment, training for women, awareness generation and gender sensitization and girl and child education. The emphasis is on helping women to become self sufficient and economically independent with the help of training and income generating activities to enhance their earning capacity and to bring up their status in life. The relentless chains of poverty have bound them to live the nightmares of starvation and homelessness. A beggar reaches out his hand, and it is about time for humanity to listen. These are children begging in the streets, families living in shanties, and the sickly dying of malnourishment. Poverty is inevitable. Everywhere you go, the poor are always rampant, – it does not matter how rich a country can get. Much of the world’s poverty today can be see because of low levels of economic and human development. Asia has been struggling with poverty for decades and as the crisis erupted in the closing years of the millennium, the problem has further entrenched itself into the roots of society. Causes Economics- Poverty is the result of mismanaged economics. With resources running very low, it is important to balance and utilize whatever left which efficiently produce goods and services to satisfy growing demands. Supply and Demand-When commodities are running scarce, they are not free. They often come with a price tag attached, and their affordability is dependent upon the availability and the demand. Social and Cultural Issues- Mentalities such as crab mentality, materialism and consumerism affect the way people progress in society. Their economic behavior very much influenced by personal vision and morals. Poverty Cycle- There is a certain process in which poor people remain poor in society. The unfortunate continues to run in the rat cage of poverty unless a revolution done to break the cycle. Natural Disasters- Poverty is inevitable in developing countries where they are plagued by floods, droughts and other problems. The poor becomes poorer when typhoons, earthquakes, and fires, for their livelihood is inevitably gone. Poor Education-Education is one the most important factors in any aspect of economic progress. It plays a key role in developing any country, and if its not nurtured well enough, society will just continue their path to regression Results Child labour- these are the children you find working in subhuman conditions. They toil over countless hours for little pay, and are often abuse by their employers. Prostitution- Money is a very scarce commodity in a country plagued by poverty. In most cases people resort to desperate ways of earning money. In street alleys and red light districts, young men and women market their bodies to interested parties. Unemployment- As money starts to dwindle in society; industry has to adjust certain measures in order to keep the business alive. They cut down on costs, which could then lead to reduction of expenditure and mass lay-offs. Rise of Crime rate- as sources for money gets scarcer, some individuals resort to defying justice for a living. Malnutrition- Poor families often have little or just as much money to get by. In most cases, they cannot even afford decent food on their plates. Solutions HCMS reaches out to the economically and socially marginalized groups of small farmers, landless agricultural workers, indigenous people, and rural women. Awareness is the key to easing the problem of poverty. We provide training and education to rural farmers and youth to create the needed awareness and consciousness about their situation and to awake them to take the necessary measures to improve on their living conditions. Therefore, they trained in the respective areas such as agriculture, horticulture, and medicinal farming. We initiate, promote, and employ various programs in order to connect Indian rural youth to earn their livelihood with effective coordination with central and state government. We also contract external resource personnel to build the capacity of farmers and other beneficiaries to improve/enhance their work competence.
