Women protest conduct of Anambra election in Awka Hundreds of women on Sunday evening trooped out to the streets of Awka, the Anambra State capital, to protest against what they called the shoddy governorship election, conduct by the Independent national Electoral Commission on Saturday in the state. The women, under not specific group name, condemned the conduct of the election, asking what the INEC was collating and planning to announce as the results of the election, which they alleged did not take place in many places in the state. The women lay on the road, some rolling on the ground, decrying the election even though the results had yet to be announced. The aggrieved laid siege to the INEC headquarters in Awka but there were no official of the commission to attend to them.
