Women slapped with obeah charges Two women slapped with obeah-related charges were dragged before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrates Court yesterday to answer to the charges. They are Rosetta Nobles and Stephanie Hall-Beckford. Nobles is charged with soliciting the practice of obeah while Hall-Beckford is charged with preaching obeah. Both pleaded not guilty to the offence. The complainant, who appeared in court, told Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey that she has pictures and video footage of the accused working their obeah. Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey told the complainant, I dont want to see it now... bring it when you are coming back! The court heard through the clerk of court that the women were accused of sprinkling fowl blood and white rum on white rice, among other practices. The accused women refuted those claims and stated to the court that it was the complainant who is responsible for police frequently beating her son. Both Nobles and Hall-Beckford are to return on May 13.
