Women who are planning on becoming pregnant may want to cut back on fried foods – a new study has found that regular consumption of fried food before pregnancy may significantly boost the odds of developing gestational diabetes. The study found that women who ate 7 or more servings of fried foods a week had more than twice the risk of gestational diabetes compared to those who had less than 1 serving a week. The findings suggest that limiting fried food may help prevent gestational diabetes, which affects about 4% of pregnant women.
