Won the heat race and started pole of the feature. Led every lap and won the feature. But wait, theres a catch, disqualified us for being 5lbs light. DQd 2nd place also. Ended up with 4 cars under weight that I know of. What bothers me the most is it appears like we were trying to cheat. Heres the way our car is set up, and how much we know about it and what we do. The car is 43lbs over min weight to get all of the %s and scale numbers how we want them. They told us after the heat race, with fuel burn off of course, we were 60lbs heavy. We measured the fuel level after the feature. We calculated that the car should be 25 lbs over min weight. Took it home, and weighed on our scales. 2130 lbs + driver 190lbs + helmet and fire suit about 8-10 lbs. 2330lbs. 30 lbs over min weight. Now thats pretty close on our part to be able to calculate within 5lbs just by measuring the fuel level. We KNOW what were doing, and its not cheating or even attempting to. The track promotors have said they will look into the scales. To many drivers with complaints of being light. I hope they get this resolved. We never would have gone to victory lane if we thought there was even a remote chance we were close. Disappointing. Worked our butts off for 2 weeks to get that thing ready, and had a win first night out taken away. Not bad mouthing the track they are working on it. Just really disappointed.
