Wonder how this one will turn out. The key issue for me is what kind of picture of God is being portrayed? This central issue is what upset me most about Noah. The Bible says that Noah commuted with God. He understood Gods heart and what God was doing. Because of that he learned to walk closely with God and co-labour with Him. He didnt feel at all like a cog in a machine or a pain to be used and disposed of. Nothing anywhere near that picture emerged from the Noah film, so I really do hope that this production does better. Even if it doesnt, and I am disappointed once again, I am consoled by a single thought. Our dear God has not left mankind to its fate. He has intervened throughout the worlds history, and continues to intervene for our good. Alone among all the religious books of the world, the Bible has no myths in its pages. It is a true and accurate historical record. the exodus of Israel from Egypt is no myth. It really happened. Because the Bible is so accurate and reliable, we can trust deeply what it says about our future, right through to the creation of the new heavens and the new earth. Alone among the gods, the God of Israel is well able to bear the weight of our lives. Let us continue to trust Him. C xx
