Wonderful Things Isaiah 25:1-5 In a day marked by infidelity - TopicsExpress

Wonderful Things Isaiah 25:1-5 In a day marked by infidelity and lies, what a great blessing it is to be reminded that Gods counsels of old are faithfulness and truth (v.1). Those who are the children of God through faith in Jesus Christ can truthfully call Him my God as did Isaiah, the faithful prophet. To be able to enjoy this personal relationship with the Lord fills us with praise and a desire to exalt Him (v.1), for He has done wonderful things. Christians who focus on these blessings cannot help but rejoice! This text also emphasizes the unlimited strength of our omnipotent Lord. The foes and hindrances of a godly, fruitful testimony are often too strong for us to face on our own, but the powerful hand of God can change things drastically, dramatically, and immediately (v.2). The proud workers of iniquity who boast in their own might and use their authority to oppress the weak cannot possibly withstand Almighty Gods hand of judgement; yes, even the branch of the terrible ones shall be brought low (v.5). As believers today, we are faced with the overwhelming forces of evil on every hand. Nevertheless, we must not forget that Gods mighty arm (Psa.89:13) can defeat every foe and protect every one of His children. He provides a perfect refuge from every storm (v.4). As we read, study, memorize, and meditate upon Gods holy Word, we will be reminded that we can depend upon all His counsels since they are based on His faithfulness and immutable truth (v.1). Every other defense will fail us; thus, our refuge must be in the Rock (Psa.18:1-2). May the Lord help us be filled with thanksgiving as we rest upon the precious promises of Gods wonderful Word.
