Wonderful rehearsal this afternoon with Sydney Symphony Orchestra and David Robertson conducting Four Last Songs. I had a pleasant surprise when I saw that Andrew Haveron was the concertmaster! I last sang with him in London at the opening of the Proms in 2008. He played the violin solos SO beautifully that night, and they were just as gorgeous today! The Orchestra played so sensitively and David encouraged such ethereal colors. Truly a joyful rehearsal with just a few teary moments! Here is a You Tube video of the 2008 Proms performance.
