Woo Hoo! The pet shop phoned, to say they have my Native Pygmy Perch for the pond. I will collect them tomorrow. The tadpoles, snails, beetles, a waterboatman (squeeee) and lots of tiny microscopic living beings are already in the pond. A last batch of soup is presently going through temp equalisation and then will go into the mix as well. I am hopeful there is another waterboatman in there, too. No leeches and no visible mosquito progeny - so far. The fish will take care of them. The good news is that while I have been seeding the pond from the swamp, with water, algae has started growing on the sides of the pond. The swamp weed is growing well in the leaf litter as well. I suspect I wont have to feed the tadpoles very often at all.
