This stretch, on the backside of the Maharashtra Nature Park ( MNP ) which is more like a huge open sewer, with all the accompanying stinking odours is indeed the seaward part of the (in)famous Mithi, brought in to lime light, post the 26/7 deluge in Mumbai. However, this poor Wood Sandpiper, blissfully or perhaps helplessly unaware of this harsh reality, alighted on this plastic flotsam right in front of me and was looking in to the dirty water for a meal. I strongly feel that the existing water bodies must be treated as National Treasures to be preserved in all their sanctity and it is the collective responsibility of all the administrative/regulatory/watch dog bodies of the government.
