Woodward Dream Cruise isnt the last car event of the summer, here are three more: ■ Sunday, Dearborn: It’s the big Ford Mustang show, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., celebrating 50 years of pony cars and staged by the Mustang Owners Club of Southeastern Michigan. Expect more than 1,000 cars, which spectators can ogle for $5, at the Ford Product Development Center, Village Road between Oakwood and Rotunda. ■ Aug. 23, Detroit: Show up at 8 a.m. in Greektown to see 100 autos lined up on Monroe for the start of the first MotorCity Gumball Rally, a two-day race of customs and exotics. Detroit police are to escort the parade of cars as they leave for a fund-raising run to Chicago and back, said Waseem Qureshi, president of the nonprofit MotorCity Rally Club. Go to motorcitygumball for details. ■ Aug. 24, Dearborn: At Cruisin’Hines, you’ll see nothing but classic cruisers and hot rods because ordinary cars are banned for the day from Hines Drive. The event runs 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Enter Hines Drive from Ford Road. The cruise is free. Noncruisers must park once inside the park. For information, go to cruisinhines or call Don Nicholson at 734-658-5296. “This is the one nobody wants to miss,” said Dana DeCoster, publisher of Cruis’news, the Sterling Heights-based monthly roster of events born the same year as the Dream Cruise — 1995.
