Wooo Hooo! I got a perfect score on my first "historical paper" for US History 102! Of course, my minimum 2-page paper turned into five pages, plus a 1 1/2 pages of resources... but the instructor liked it. :D My topic was the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire of 1911... "Very good description and recounting of this tragic event, including the lack of communication and fire alarms in the building and word of the fire traveling as fast as someone could climb stairs, the failure of fire nets and inability of firefighters to reach the upper floors, presence of Francis Perkins in the crowd of onlookers, the trial of Harris and Blanck, and subsequent creation of the NYC Bureau of Fire Investigation. This was the biggest disaster in NYC until the events of 9/11 in Manhattan. " It was also the deadliest industrial accident in the United States until the mid-1940s, and it still rates as the fourth deadliest.
