Worcester Man Stable after being Shot on Grand Street Worcester, MA (January 5, 2015) - On Saturday, January 3, 2015 at approximately 3:26 AM Worcester Police responded to a Shotspotter activation in the area of 149 Gardner Street. Shotspotter, the new gun detection system, indicated that several rounds were fired. Several officers responded to the area and located a 35-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The male was treated at the scene by Worcester EMS and then transported to U-Mass Medical Center (university campus). Police at the scene observed a motor vehicle running with the driver’s door open. Police observed that this vehicle had several bullet holes in the side. Worcester Police Investigators were called to the scene to process evidence and interview neighbors. Other detectives went to the hospital and interviewed the victim. The victim provided the detective with minimal information. The victim refused to provide a statement about the incident. The victim is in stable condition with a non-life threatening injury.
