Word For The Week: GUILT! ALL NEW: “Building Faithful Families (BFF)” Fall Series No amount of soap or lye can make you clean. I still see the stain of your GUILT. I, the Sovereign LORD, have spoken! -Jeremiah 2:22 Even if we feel GUILTy, God is greater than our feelings, and he knows everything. -1 John 3:20 Blackademically Speaking, I believe there are fewer things more damaging to our hearts than the burden of sin and thus our own GUILT. (Insert:Pause!) Likewise, I also believe that at the core of our family’s issues are individual 1)mistakes, 2)missteps and even 3)mental illness issues, all of what helps breed even more GUILT. In step with our All New: “Building Faithful Families (BFF)” Fall Series and as Jeremiah implies in the above scripture, we need to be cleansed and “no amount of soap” can do that! Scripture also remind us that God sees not just the stain of our GUILT but too the pain that hoards it. Simply put, God knows everything, He has not created us to live in shame and He certainly hasnt limited our families to feelings of GUILT. Even if we feel GUILTy, God is greater than our feelings... See, He has a Deliverance model/a Redemption mode; He’s made a way out and it starts with a spiritual cleansing from within.
