Word For Today #68 Psalm 118:22-23 22 The stone the builders rejected has become the capstone; 23 the LORD has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes. None of us enjoy rejection. We want to feel needed and adequate. On more than one occasion in my coaching career I have been turned down for a job that I truly felt like I was the best person to take on that position. Rejection is not a part of life that any of us look forward to but one thing that we must remember is that Jesus himself was rejected. God sent Jesus to live on Earth in human form and become the Messiah prophesized by the prophets. Instead of being hailed and honored as the King of Kings Jesus was rejected by his very own people, accused of crimes he never committed and then sentenced to die on a cross. The wonderful thing about this rejection is this was God’s plan! Jesus, despised and crucified by the Jews would become the cornerstone for God’s church! Though rejected by mankind he was God’s chosen Savior! He would defeat death, rise from the grave and become the anointed King that God had intended! Though the world may reject you in some way you will never be rejected By God when you place your faith in Jesus, the one rejected for all of us! Place your faith in the stone that was tossed aside, the cornerstone, Jesus Christ!
