Word For Today! And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian seven years. (Judges 6 vs 1). It is instructive to note that the bondage of Israel in the hands of the Midianites lasted for seven years. The captivity and subjugation of Israel lasted for seven years. The pains, tears and sufferings of Israel lasted for seven years. The number SEVEN stands for PERFECTION. So, the battles of Israel was there in order to perfect them. Friends, hear Gods Prophetic Word: Every battle in your destiny is only there to make you better and make you come out on a higher level. Wait a minute! Search your soul deeply, you will realize that the negative circumstances around may have strengthened your desire and hunger for God. Sometimes, the battles of life teaches you to be more patient even in your expectations. At other times, challenging situations also help sieve the wrong people from our lives because their actions and reactions when we are in difficulty goes a long way in telling us whether they are needed in our lives or not. You may have learnt to be broken in Gods presence because of the things you have passed through. When people renege on their promises, it may have taught you to depend totally on God whose promises cannot fail. 2 Corinthians 4 vs 16-17 (Message Translation) affirms it further. It says: Even though on the outside, it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes without his unfolding Grace. Beloved, the battle will soon end; but look back and you will appreciate who you have become in the midst of these challenges.
