Word Impartation Daily Devotional 28/9/2014. Topic:NO ONE IS INFERIOR. QUOTE OF THE DAY: “NO MAN IS SUPERIOR TO THE OTHER” Memory Verse: “I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted” Luke 18:14. Superiority emerges from comparisons, it is established by deficiencies seen in others, and maintained by searching for and keeping in sight all deficiencies it can perceive. These feelings become the vehicle that takes one farther away from God and a pill that poisons a healthy relationship. Superiority is not about being better than someone else. It is about being better than you used to be. We all emanate from God. We all have missions to realize our intended essence; and all that we need to fulfill our destiny is available to us. But none of this is ever possible when you see yourself as being superior to others. We are all equal in the eyes of God. If I may ask, where come these feelings of superiority? Or why is it that some people see themselves as superior to others? Everything stems out of the assessment of others on the basis of their appearances, achievements, possessions, and other indices of ego. Interestingly, when you project feelings of superiority, that’s what you get back, leading to resentments and ultimately hostile feelings. From Jesus’ parable in Luke 18:11-12, it was obvious that on the basis of self-acclaimed righteousness; works of service and religion, the Pharisee in question perceived himself as being superior to the tax collector. He was even bold enough to use these parameters to justify himself and condemn the tax collector. Can you imagine that? But you can subdue and overcome this ego – induced attitude. How? Stay focused on your personal growth, with a constant awareness that every man is equal before God. Always see the unfolding of God in everyone. Never assess others on the basis of their appearance and achievements. Don’t you ever project feelings of superiority because human beings can always quickly perceive it. Above all, walk in the spirit, and wage war against your ego. The reason it is puffing you up is to deflate you permanently. This will not be your portion. You are the next to be lifted in Jesus name. Have a good sunday. PROPHETIC PRAYERS I claim and receive victory over whatever wants to make me God’s enemy in Jesus name.
